What is BOSH? Why do I need it? - Dr. Nic Williams, Stark & Wayne

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The only method for deploying Cloud Foundry that is curated and documented by the Cloud Foundry Foundation is to use BOSH. But what is BOSH? Why is BOSH a good thing? What problems does BOSH solve? BOSH a piece of technology that still has no open source competitors in 2015 - it communicates with infrastructure APIs to provision servers, disks and bind to networks; it promises to install the specific packages and configuration files that you expect without accidental upstream changes; and it watches the system and resurrects any cloud infrastructure that disappears. Today you might feel like BOSH is being forced on you to get Cloud Foundry running. By the end of this presentation you will have a new excitement for BOSH and will want BOSH to deploy and run all your complex distributed systems.
